Re: Requesting approval by Carlos R. Malpica (Punto Urbano)

From what I can tell visually, your device looks great. I however do not speak Spanish, so can't really translate what you are saying in the video. I will speak to some other e-NABLErs about finding someone that is fluent in spanish that could review your submission to be more thorough. From the loo...

Re: Requesting approval by Rebecca Panitch

Hey Rebecca, It looks like you have lots of people in your Prosthesis Club! How exciting! Working with Felicia and Brandon, right? Your hands at Brandeis all look similar, so you'll all get the same approval message! Your device looks nice. It has good motion and the velcro is well attached. The tip...

Re: Requesting approval by Felicia

Thanks for those. Looking good. The newer designs (raptor reloaded and phoenix) print nicer so I think you'll be even more impressed by their quality. As for your questions: 1) Post a screenshot of the forum approval post as evidence for CREDLY. 2) We don't have a matching process in place yet. It i...

Hey Felicia, It looks like you have lots of people in your Prosthesis Club! How exciting! Your device looks nice. It has good motion and the velcro is well attached. The tippy gel fingers look good, but don't be surprised if they wear out pretty quickly. We're exploring alternative to those. I'd lik...

Please do post up your next design as well, once you've got an all PLA with the velcro included.

Re: Requesting Approval

Hey Mohamad! Nice job on the print. It flexes beautifully! Just a couple of suggestions: 1) The fishing line is good since its readily available in most areas of the world. It also is small so it can fit into tiny holes that you get with smaller hand prints. Its worth giving it another go at tying u...

Consider this message (or the message from Enable Outreach) your approval! The approval badges are being sent out through a website called credly, so you'll need to ge...

Re: Requesting Approval

Hey James and Gentry (hope i heard that name right). This hand looks great. ABS does give a nice and smooth finish. The finger tips should be a bit smoother, which I suspect would happen with PLA or some extra finishing. For working with a recipient, you could also wire the neutral position a bit mo...

Re: Requesting Approval

Hey Garrett Looks nice! You've got excellent grip strength in that hand. I can't really tell from the video, but I suspect the fingers came out nice and smooth at the tips (that's typically the only rough area. Its hard to see with the bright yellow plastic). For tensioning, you can leave the rest p...

Hey Paul Looks great! Good to see the thermoformed example as well. I'm a big fan of those gauntlets. They print much nicer, are stronger and more comfortable. You're certainly getting excellent results from that Prusa. Big fan of those printers. They seem to give some of the best results I see. The...

Re: Requesting approval

The Raptor Design is nice, but as you mentioned the fingers aren't as springy and if you look closely the pins aren't quite as snug as some of the newer designs (I particularly noticed the pins attaching the knuckles to the palm sticking out a little bit). Some of the newer designs (http://enablingt...

Checkout this link: http://www.teamunlimbited.org/thermo-form-gauntlet/

It describes what it is and how it works. Let me know how it works or if you have any questions!
Note that you can also use a hairdryer to heat the plastic for thermoforming instead of boiling water.

Awesome! Have you heard of open bionics (https://www.openbionics.com/)? Their electronic hands are impressive. They're all open source. I also like the mypo hand (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1675356). I'll have a student building one this summer. If you ever want to bounce ideas around, i've da...

The previous post can be used as your approval. This one is just a few details to improve your next print a little: 1) I'd suggest using a thermoformed gauntlet design. The print quicker, use less filament, are stronger and should result in a cleaner print around the wrist hinge where you saw some w...

I believe the RIT arm has been superceded by the Team Unlimbited Arm (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1672381). Work on the RIT arm has stopped for several years now and the recommended device is the arm linked above. The Kwawu Arm is a good option for an adult-sized arm (http://www.thingiverse.com...
