Re: Airy Arm

I want to thank you for your continued patience. I know it's not easy, and you are all so excited for the Airy Arm to finally be available, but it is slow going. This is a much more involved project than I originally thought, but I am still pushing forward. Even with classes last semester and only g...

Re: Airy Arm

Again, I apologize for not updating regularly. I have been very busy with school this semester. I only get a small amount of time each week to work on this, so progress has been rather slow. I thank you all for your patience and understanding on this matter. Recently, I have been gathering informati...

Re: Airy Arm

I have been very very busy with school recently, but I realized I may need to collect more information about the requirements for this device. Any input is welcome. What would you like from a device like this? What would you like to be able to do with it? Or- I guess what I should ask is, what do yo...

Re: Airy Arm

I would like to thank you again for your patience. I finished work, but am now going back to school. I do still plan to work on the device, and will hopefully post a picture soon. I have completed a rough prototype of what the new wrist will be like. I welcome any and all feedback, especially from t...

Re: Airy Arm

Thank you all for your patience. I am still working on the design for the wrist. I haven't gotten much time recently to work on it due to working full time, but I am still working on it, slowly but surely! I will try to do a weekly post to keep everyone up to date on progress. So far, though, I thin...

Re: Airy Arm

I would like to request a momentary pause in testing of this device. I recently presented at the 2015 Hemispherectomy Conference and Family Reunion, where I met many amazing families and their wonderful children. This conference brought to my attention a serious design flaw which makes the Airy Arm ...

Re: Airy Arm

Thank you all for your support. I hope printing and testing goes well for everyone, and am excited to hear the feedback you will have. @Ashoksingh10 I believe there are e-NABLE volunteers in New Delhi; I'm sure if you put a post on the community page, someone will be able to help print for you. Unfo...

Re: Airy Arm

The STEP files can be found here:
Please remember this is still an experimental device, so children should be supervised, and some adjustments may be needed.

Re: Airy Arm

I have uploaded STEP files, along with an instruction guide, to the e-NABLE shared drive folder. You can find them under the "Designs Not on Thingiverse" folder. You may download the files and check them out in your native 3D modeling program. Please be advised that this device is not read...

Re: Airy Arm

Approximately two weeks ago, I launched a functioning version of the Airy Arm on its very first recipient. I have had to simplify the function, so it only opens the fingers at the moment, and has a stationary brace for the thumb and wrist. Candon was able to successfully pick up and release an objec...

Re: Airy Arm

I apologize for not having posted any updates recently. Though I am in the process of redesigning the frame, here is what the hand is looking like. I have small fingertip pieces and bars that extend over the knuckles to [hopefully] provide the necessary leverage for opening the fingers of a spastic ...

Re: Airy Arm

I am Elizabeth Jackson, engineer and designer of the Airy Arm, a 3D printed mechanical arm exoskeleton for those with an intact but non-functioning hand. It is still in design phase, but I feel very very close to nailing it! Here's a sneak peak!
