Yesterday on the call there were some questions about testing tensile strength. I have done some work on putting together a strength tester and have started posting some results. This tester can be put together for about $35 so anyone can join in, or I would test some samples if sent to me.
Here is a link to the information https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/3d-materials/qm-Ms8E-AyE.
This link shows the test procedure and links to the test results page.
If interested I could also post the parts and plans for the tester. The test holder I have tests "flexural" strength (break in half), other holders could be made for tensile strength - but I have found the plastic so tough that it would exceed the scale capacity - but there are ways around that.
For R&D discussions that don't fit elsewhere.
