The e-NABLE chapters have created a simple system for community members to help recipients all over the world. If you are looking for a recipient and don't mind spending a little money on shipping, this is for you!!!

Just go to the URL below and pick a recipient from the list. We have a growing number of recipients on the list from our various chapters.

Hello,

My name is Natalie Korsavidis and I am the Young Adult Librarian at the Farmingdale Public Library. I am trying to see how I would be able to get kits that my patrons can assemble either as part of a library program or from home. We do not have access to a 3D printer in my building.

Natalie - You could contact ECF or Enable Outreach. They have different requirements, so you may qualify for one of them.

Natalie - I am a science teacher in Brentwood - trying to start my kids in production. Right now I am personally having trouble scaling a hand to build myself. Once I figure that out and get a wrokable hand built, I can provide you with some hands to assemble! I could provide more if you can get your hands on some filament - the consumable part of the three d printer. Aljanbi - I also can have my kids build some for you once I get the scaling figured out!

Did you get your scaling issues worked out? I am certainly no pro but I had no problems scaling with my open sourced software. A simple approach is just to scale in "Slic3r", which is the STL to Gcode software I use. If you are doing parametric scaling, I would be interested in a follow up post on your approach. One can never have too many ways of doing things.

Mike, I can help you figure out the scaling. What software are you using?
Natalie, have you been able to get any kits yet?
Aljanabi, how many of your people still need prosthetics?

There are several good youtube tutorials on scaling hands using Blender:

...probably more

and a playlist covering the complete process:

Since this post appears at the top of every sub group in the forum, is it possible to get the OP updated to remove the now defunct Trello board link, and point to e-NABLE Web Central (https://www.enablewebcentral.com/) instead?

Hello, I just read your letter regarding your needs in Syria and Iraq. I might be able to offer a hand. Please describe what you are looking for.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Adam,

I'm sorry nobody has replied to you – maybe they sent you a private message – I hope so.

If you've not done so, please sign up at http://enablewebcentral.com. I'm now qualified as a device fabricator in assembler for the Raptor Reloaded.

Also on that website, after you sign up you can learn how to take photos that are needed and upload them to a new case you create.

I'm sure someone can help if I can't! :geek:

Best regards,
Leland...
