Hey Providence Day School!

The hand looks nice! I do need a little more information though before approval though.
Can you perhaps talk a little in your video or type up the challenges you faced? Tell me about
what kind of printer and plastic you used? Also, can you take off the fingertip covers and
show how the fingertips look? I'm sure everything is good, i'm just trying to gather some data
on what tools people are having the most success with.

Thanks!

Eric

A challenge we faced when putting together the hands is that we hadn't realized the design of the hand was different than the hand in the video tutorial of the raptor hand, so we drilled holes into the hand to match the one in the video. We used a CubePro printer with PLA plastic.

Thanks,
Providence Day

Thanks for the updated photos. I'd like to suggest printing a Phoenix hand instead of this Raptor Hand. This design prints much more reliably and gets better layer adhesion (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1674320). The photos you attached are great but I think there are some design flaws in the original raptor that makes it not fit together quite well enough to demonstrate your mastery of printing and assembly. This Raptor has a pretty rough bottom layer and I'd be concerned that the bottom layers might become separated from the rest of the hand and potentially cause discomfort for the user.

We are having some trouble downloading the file to print the Phoenix hand. Whenever we try to use the customizer, the website says that it Is unavailable. Is there another place we can download the files for the hand?

Thank you,
Providence Day School

Try this design, it requires more screws to assemble and doesn't require using the customizer:

Let me know if you have issues.
