Requesting Approval by Kori Tolfa

Postby KoriTolfa » Thu Feb 08, 2018 11:26 pm

Hello! Here my request for approval video!
I printed a Phoenix V2 hand (from thingiverse) at 100% scaling and 35 % solid
I used PLA for the thermo gauntlet and ABS for everything else. Non latex rubber bands were used for the back of the fingers, and 100lb fishing line for the stringing
I took the velcro straps off so you guys could see the foam and gauntlet a little better. Please let me know if I need to add anything else!

Hi Leo

Excellent video. The print looks nice! You can increase your tensioning angle a good bit. You want the gauntlet to be inclined by between 35-45 degrees when you lay the palm flat on a table. This makes the device functional for users so they don't have to bend their wrist excessively to get any gripping force.

Consider this message your approval for the TEST HAND and the Phoenix V2 fabrication and assembly badges!

The approval badges are currently being sent out through a website called credly, so you'll need to get an account on there:
https://credly.com/

There is work being done to move to a new badging system (called badgr) but all your credly badges will transfer over once that is done. This transfer is somewhat slowing credly badge approvals, so it may take a couple of weeks for your credly submissions to be reviewed. Please be patient.

Once you have an account you can take a screenshot of this post or submit the link for this post into credly to claim your approval badge here:
https://credly.com/claim/101276

Also checkout the enablingthefuture page for getting involved to see what other badges you might be able to get:

Thank you so much for the advice!
We are wanting to do a print-a-thon at our library with the phoenix hand, do you happen to have any idea where the best place would be to send finished hands of to (enable, a specific charter, hospital, etc)?
We would buy everything needed (including velcro, padding, etc) and have them all assembled from 110%-130% scaling,
Thank you guys so much again!

Kori
