Hey Christie,

The hand looks great! Very nice quality. Two suggestions:
1) The thumb pin looks to be inserted the wrong way. If you flip it 180 degrees, the square end of the pin will fit flush with the square hole of the palm.
2) When tensioning, you want the rest angle of the gauntlet with the palm to be roughly 30-40 degrees. This will let the hand close at a more neutral position and make it usable for recipients. Take a look at some of the other posts on here to see some pictures.

Everything else looks very nice. I'd suggest taking a look at the Phoenix Hand as that is the newest recommended device from eNABLE.

Thanks for joining up with the group and let me know if you have any questions!

Consider this message your approval for the TEST HAND and the Raptor Reloaded fabrication and assembly badges!

The approval badges are being sent out through a website called credly, so you'll need to get an account on there:
https://credly.com/

Once you have an account you can take a screenshot of this post or submit the link for this post into credly to claim your approval badge here:

Also checkout the enablingthefuture page for getting involved to see what other badges you might be able to get:

Hi Ebubar,

You suggested taking a look at the Pheonix hand, do I need to build another test hand or can I go ahead and be paired with someone? What is the next step I need to take in moving forward?

Once you are approved for your test hand and are into credly, you no longer need to come to the forums for approvals.

You should signup for e-NABLE Web Central (https://www.enablewebcentral.com/). That's where all the volunteers and cases go. When you see a case request that you are geographically close to, you can claim several roles (web central describes this here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tkf3Ot ... e=youtu.be). To claim a case you need to have the badge for the device that has been suggested for that particular recipient. To get that badge, you have to build a functioning device and get the credly badge for that (all done through credly's badging). So there are a few more hurdles to jump after you get your hand approval to be matched. This is partly by design to assure that volunteers are invested with their time to be reliable enough make devices.

In summary, you need to:

1) Be familiar with credly and build the various devices to get badges for them (through credly). Lots of device builds = lots of credly badges = lots of opportunities to help build devices for people!

2) Signup for eNABLE Web Central to seek cases that need matches and volunteer in various roles.

Hope that helps!
