Requesting Approval - Ian with Kent Middle School

Postby Nuclear_Pickle5 » Tue Jan 16, 2018 3:32 am

Hello, my name is Ian Lind and I am from Kent Middle School in Califonia, Usa

I'm submitting a THE RAPTOR RELOADED device for submission approval.

This was printed on a Ulitmaker 3 Printer.

Only problem I had was sometimes the index finger would stay bent after I released the hand, but that became less prominent after we used it more.

Overall, I am pleased with the finished result.

Hey Ian!

Nice job printing. Functionality looks good. Just take note, that is the Original Raptor Hand that you've printed.
The Raptor Reloaded is here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:596966). The most recent highly recommended design is
the Phoenix by Team Unlimbited (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1674320). I would suggest one of those two updated models.

Consider this message your approval for the TEST HAND and the RAPTOR fabrication and assembly badges!

The approval badges are being sent out through a website called credly, so you'll need to get an account on there:
https://credly.com/

Once you have an account you can take a screenshot of this post or submit the link for this post into credly to claim your approval badge here:

Also checkout the enablingthefuture page for getting involved to see what other badges you might be able to get:

Hello,

Thank you for responding to our post! We are having some issues claiming the Fabrication and Assembly badges. We have claimed the overall approval badge but can not find the Fabrication or Assembly badges. How exactly can we approve them?

Thank you!

I'm currently not having much luck with Credly. The site may be down at the moment. If you've claimed your initial approval badge, there is work being done to rapidly move to badgr, so I wouldn't put tons of effort into claiming additional credly badges as they'll all just be transferred to a brand new system soon.

Hello,
Thank you for answering our questions about Credly. We would really like to move forward and build a hand for real child. Would we need some sort of software for this? How can we do that? We really want to build a hand for a real child. Hopefully you can help us? Thank you!!

Hey Ian,

To build for recipients, you need to get an account on www.enablewebcentral.com

That repository houses all requests for devices. You can try to find one local to you to print for.
Local printing is best so you can make corrections and repairs to any device that you provide.

Hope that helps!

Eric
