Question about Elbow Powered RIT arm

Postby jsauvie » Thu Jul 27, 2017 7:48 pm

My 5 yr old daughter is a bilateral amputee below the elbow. We currently have a more old fashioned hook prosthesis that requires 2 shoulder harness which are not easy to get on & quite heavy. She has about 2 in of forearm below her elbows. Would that be enough for something like the RIT elbow powered arm? Thanks

Do you know if anyone ever answered to your question? I also have a similar issue with one of our recipients. The forearm extends out only a few inches and we're not sure if that will be sufficient for movement of elbow-actuated devices such as the RIT arm.
