Arm for a young child

Postby amecel » Wed Aug 01, 2018 12:15 pm

Hi,

I am quite new at 3d printing, I have just built a phoenix test hand, which has been validated.
Now I intend to build an arm for a young child who is missing the right hand and most of the forearm.
I have several questions :
- I am not quite sure what's the best model for him. I think of the unlimbited arm. Is it recommended for a child with a functional elbow but a very short forearm?
- I have read that the customizer is not working for resizing the parts. The "emergency procedure" suggests to install a custom OpenSCAD version. Is this custom version available for linux OS?
- the child is only 4 years old. Is that too young? Will it be OK to downsize the models to fit his measurements?

Thank you for your help!

Did you get any help with this.. I find myself in a similar situation and not sure where to go.. No one seems to monitor this site and Google groups is not really easy to find historic data.
